Kim Jee-woon Developing Live-Action Remake of JIN ROH: THE WOLF BRIGADE

1999 anime to get live-action remake.

Korean filmmaker Kim Jee-woon (‘I Saw the Devil,’ ‘The Good, the Bad, the Weird’) is reportedly planning a live-action adaptation of Hiroyuki Okiura’s 1999 anime ‘Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade.’

According to Twitch, various Korean outlets are reporting that Jee-woon is attached to take the director’s chair for the adaptation which will be retitled ‘Inrang.’

Based on ‘Ghost in the Shell’ director Mamoru Oshii’s Kerberos saga, the original film is set in a parallel 1950s Japan, in which Germany won World War II and Japan exists as an totalitarian state. The story focuses on Kazuki Fuse, a Corporal in the elite Kerberos Panzer Cops, whom builds a relationship with a young girl who is part of a violent protest movement.
