Kevin Durand and Lukas Haas Board DARK WAS THE NIGHT February 20, 2012 Production set for this week. THR reports that Kevin Durand (‘Real Steel,’ ‘Lost’) and Lukas Haas (‘Inception’) have been cast in Jack Heller’s ‘Dark Was The Night,’ a horror thriller that will, reportedly, feature a “never-before-seen” monster. Co-starring Sabina Gadecki (‘Freaky Deaky’), Heath Freeman (‘Skateland’) and Nick Damici (‘Stake Land’), the film is set in an isolated town, where a logging company disrupts the balance of life in the woods, causing an evil force to emerge. The only thing standing between evil and the locals is a sheriff and his deputy. Production on the Tyler Hisel-penned horror, previously titled ‘The Trees,’ kicks off this week with Heller producing with his Caliber partner Dallas Sonnier and Sundial’s Stefan Nowicki.
