Bacon in talks to play the villain opposite Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges.
Not content with playing villains in ‘X-Men: First Class’ and ‘Super,’ Kevin Bacon is looking to be the bad guy yet again. Variety reports that Bacon is now in final negotiations to play the big bad in Robert Schwentke’s supernatural action comedy ‘R.I.P.D.’
Based on Peter Lenkov’s comic series, the story follows Nick Cruz (Ryan Reynolds), a cop killed in the line of duty who is recruited by a team of undead police officers working for the Rest in Peace Department. He then tries to find the man who murdered him with the help of his partner, Roy Powell (Jeff Bridges), a wise-cracking a gunslinger who’s been dead for a couple of hundred years.
The screenplay was adapted by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi.
