Replacing Daniel Craig in courtroom drama…

Deadline hears that Keanu Reeves has stepped in to replace Daniel Craig as the lead in director Courtney Hunt’s courtroom drama ‘The Whole Truth.’

Penned by Nicholas Kazan, the film sees Reeves playing a Southern defence attorney who fights to get his teenage client acquitted of murdering his wealthy father.

Renee Zellweger (‘ My Own Love Song,’ ‘Case 39’), British actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw (‘Belle,’ ‘Odd Thomas’), and Gabriel Basso (‘Super 8,’ ‘Kings of Summer’) are attached to co-star.

Filming is expected to get underway next month in New Orleans.

‘James Bond’ star Craig unexpectedly dropped out as the film’s lead back in April.
