Justin Lin to Adapt Patrick Lee Thriller Novel

Lin to produce and direct the character-driven thriller.

Deadline has word that Warner Bros. Pictures and ‘Fast & Furious’ helmer Justin Lin are set to team for an untitled action/thriller based on an upcoming novel by author Patrick Lee.

Set to hit book shelves next winter, Lee’s book is the first in a series centring on Sam Dryden, an ex-special operative who runs into “a mysterious young girl who is not quite what she seems, and embarks on a journey to keep her safe from a powerful government agent intent on hunting her down.”

In addition to taking the director’s chair for the untitled film, Lin will produce with Michael De Luca (‘Moneyball,’ ‘Fright Night,’ ‘The Social Network’). Lin’s Barnstorm partner, and president of production, Elaine Chin is also producing, along with Lee’s manager Pouya Shahbazian.

An adaptation of Lee’s first novel, ‘The Breach,’ is currently in development with Lorenzo di Bonaventura and David Goyer producing and Justin Rhodes writting.
