JURASSIC WORLD Casts Ty Simpkinsq

Young star to go up against the dinosaurs…

Deadline is reporting that young Ty Simpkins (‘Insidious: Chapter 2,’ ‘Iron Man 3,’ ‘War Of The Worlds’) has scored a lead role in the Colin Trevorrow-directed ‘Jurassic World.’

Additionally, the site hears that ‘New Girl’ and ‘Drinking Buddies’ star Jake Johnson, who worked with Trevorrow on last year’s oddball indie sci-fi ‘Safety Not Guarantee,’ is in the mix for role alongside 12-year old Simpkins and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Plot details for the fourth entry in the ‘Jurassic Park’ franchise remain firmly under lock and key, but the film is believed to be set in present day Isla Nublar, the setting of Steven Spielberg’s 1993 blockbuster.

‘Jurassic World’ will be shot in 3D and is currently scheduled for a June 2015 release.

UPDATE:

Variety adds that Nick Robinson (‘The Kings of Summer’) has also joined the sequel, landing a “big role.”
