Julianne Moore Boards STILL ALICE Adaptation

Actress will lead adaptation…

Variety has learned that Julianne Moore (‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay,’ Seventh Son,’ ‘Carrie’) is been cast in an adaptation of Harvard neuroscientist and author Lisa Genova’s 2007 debut novel, ‘Still Alice.’

Set for mid-February production start in New York, the film will see Moore playing Alice Howland, a celebrated Harvard professor at the height of her career who faces the early onset of Alzheimer’s disease. Fiercely independent, Alice struggles to maintain her lifestyle and live in the moment, even as her sense of self is being stripped away.

Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland (‘The Last of Robin Hood,’ ‘Quinceañera’) are attached to direct.
