Julia Roberts to Produce and Star in BATKID Movie

Make-a-Wish story getting narrative feature…

It has been announced that Julia Roberts has signed to produce and star in a feature adaptation of the upcoming “Batkid” documentary ‘Batkid Begins: The Wish Heard around the World.’

Directed by Dana Nachman, the documentary tells of Miles Scott, the 5-year old leukemia survivor, who, thanks to the partnership of the Make-a-Wish foundation and the city of San Francisco, became Batman for a day back in November 2013.

“It’s thrilling to me that Ms. Roberts and her team watched our film and were so moved by it that they want to dedicate their time and creative capital to make sure the widest audience possible will know and love Miles’ story and the spirit of this intimate special event that went global, as much as we do,” said Nachman in a statement.

Roberts will produce the narrative feature alongside her Red Om Films partners Lisa Gillan and Marisa Yeres Gill. Nachman is on board to serve as executive producer, with Josh and Dan Braun of Sub/Version. You can check out a trailer for Nachman’s documentary below.
