Buffy creator Joss Whedon to helm Avengers
Joss Whedon is in final talks to helm the Avengers movie.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Dollhouse creator has reportedly been on the shortlist to helm the superhero picture since early April.
The film is expected to feature Marvel heroes Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and SHIELD leader Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).
The Avengers is scheduled for a 2012 release.
