Jonathan Demme to Helm OLD FIRES

Oscar-winning filmmaker takes family comedy drama.

Jonathan Demme (‘Silence of the Lambs’) is to take the director’s chair for the family comedy drama ‘Old Fires,’ reports Variety.

Scripted by Heather McGowan (‘Tadpole’), the film follows “a world-renowned architect who comes out of a coma in need of both physical and mental rehabilitation. With the help of his snarky female physical therapist, he tries to repair his damaged relationship with his children and win back his wife’s love.”

Production is set to begin next summer with Rosalie Swedlin (‘Cracks’) producing via Anonymous Content along with Caroline Kaplan (‘Generation Um…’).
