Johnny Depp Confirmed For 21 JUMP STREET Cameo

Actor makes room in his schedule for cameo appearance.

Comingsoon.net has confirmed that Johnny Depp will indeed have a cameo role in the currently filming big screen adaptation of ‘21 Jump Street,’ with ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs’ directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller directing.

Jonah Hill, who co-wrote the script with Michael Bacall (‘Scott Pilgrim vs The World’), had been courting the actor to make a cameo appearance. At first it appeared that Depp’s busy schedule would keep him from appearing in the movie, but now it seems things have worked out and the actor will be making a cameo in some capacity, in what is expected to be a day’s worth of work on the film.

The cast announced for the big screen outing, which is being described “as a combination of a Michael Bay action fest and a John Hughes coming-of-age teen comedy,” so far includes Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Alison Brie (‘Community’), Dave Franco, DeRay Davis, Jake Johnson and Rob Riggle (‘The Other Guys’).

‘21 Jump Street’ ran from 1987 to 1991 and was centered around a group of young-looking LAPD detectives who went undercover at high schools to crack down on youth crime. The series starred Depp, Peter DeLuise, Holly Robinson, and Richard Grieco.
