Johnny Depp is set to team with Kevin Smith for ‘Yoga Hosers,’ a spin-off of Smith’s upcoming body horror ‘Tusk,’ says THR.
The second film in Smith’s ‘True North Trilogy,’ the film stars the duo’s daughters, Lily-Rose Depp and Harley Quinn Smith, as two 15-year-old yoga nuts who have an after-school job at a Manitoba convenience store called Eh-2-Zed. The characters make an appearance in ‘Tusk.’
“When an ancient evil rises from beneath Canada’s crust and threatens their big invitation to a Grade 12 party, Colleen Collette and Colleen McKenzie join forces with a legendary man-hunter from Montreal named Guy Lapointe (Depp) to fight for their lives.”
Additionally, the entire ‘Tusk’ cast will appear, including Michael Parks, Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez, Ralph Garman, Jennifer Schwalbach and Harley Morenstein.
Natasha Lyonne (‘Orange Is The New Black’), Tony Hale (‘Arrested Development’), Austin Butler (‘The Intruders’), Adam Brody (‘Life Partners’), Tyler Posey (‘Teen Wolf’), and Smith’s regular collaborator Jason Mewes also star.
Liz Destro, Jordan Monsanto and Schwalbach are producing, with Kim Leadford and Charles Bonan of StarStream Entertainment serving as executive producers alongside Abolitta Productions’ Tim Nye and XYZ Films.
Principal photography kicks off this week.
