Joe Cornish Takes SECTION 6 With Jack O

World War I spy thriller finds its director…

‘Attack the Block’ helmer and ‘Ant-Man’ co-writer Joe Cornish has closed a deal to step behind the camera to direct the historical spy thriller ‘Section 6,’

TheWrap has learned. The film, penned by Aaron Berg, follows the World War I-era formation of British intelligence agency MI6 and its first director, Sir George Mansfield Cummings, who served as the inspiration for M in the ‘James Bond’ series.

Jack O’Connell (‘Unbroken,’ ‘300: Rise of an Empire’) is attached to play Cummings’ “promising young protégé.”

Lawrence Grey, Marc Platt, Nira Park and Adam Siegel are on board to produce, with the aim of spinning the spy thriller into a hit franchise.
