Brad Anderson-directed thriller secures male lead.

Heat Vision has learned that Jim Sturgess (‘Cloud Atlas,’ ‘Across the Universe’) has nabbed the male lead opposite Kate Beckinsale in the psychological thriller ‘Eliza Graves.’

Loosely based on Edgar Allan Poe’s 1845 short story ‘The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether’ and centres on a Harvard Medical School grad (Sturgess) who takes a job at a mental institution unaware that the occupants have taken it over. The young doctor becomes obsessed with the title character (Beckinsale), one of the patients.

Brad Anderson is attached to direct with the screenplay coming from screenwriter and novelist Joseph Gangemi. Principal photography is set to begin this June.
