Jim Gillespie Set for TAKE DOWN

Scottish director takes action thriller.

‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ helmer Jim Gillespie has signed on to take the director’s chair for the teen action thriller ‘Take Down.’

Scripted by ‘Ransom’ screenwriter Alexander Ignon, ‘Take Down’ follows a group of privileged international teens who fight back when their remote boarding school is besieged by armed kidnappers.

Casting is set to begin in the coming weeks with filming to take place in the U.K. in the autumn.

Ed Elbert (‘Anna And The King’), Sarah Ryan Black (‘The Breakfast Club,’ ‘Fried Green Tomatoes’), Stefan Brunner (‘The Alchemyst,’ ‘The Help’), Alex Tate, and Jamie Brown and Alex Brown of Studio Eight will produce.

‘Take Down’ will mark Gillespie’s first film since 2005’s slaher horror ‘Venom.’
