Jesse Wigutow to Fuel Zac Efron

Scribe boards graphic novel adaptation…

According to Deadline, Universal Pictures has tapped screenwriter Jesse Wigutow (‘It Runs in the Family’) to pen the script for the long-gesting graphic novel adaptation ‘Fire.’

Based on the 2001 graphic novel by Eisner award-winning Brian Michael Bendis and published by Icon Comics, ‘Fire’ is about a shy, quiet college student who is recruited by the American government, only to discover that he is being trained for a program that churns out expendable spies.

Zac Efron is attached to executive produce and lead the project, with Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe set to produce via their shingle, Original Films. The adaptation is a passion project for Efron, who with Bendis, sold the project to Universal in 2010.
