‘The Hurt Locker’ star adds another project onto his busy schedule.
Jeremy Renner (‘The Avengers,’ ‘The Bourne Legacy,’ ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’) has closed a deal with Paramount to produce and star in the racing biopic ‘Slingshot.’
The movie tells the true story of Bill Caswell, a former finance banker who competed against professional race teams in the World Rally Championships in Mexico with a €348 BMW he bought on Craigslist. Caswell gained recognition by placing third in the Rally America class of Rally Mexico.
The actor and his producing partner Don Handfield will produce the project under their banner The Combine. Renner and Handfield recently announced that they are also developing the Steve McQueen biopic ‘McQueen,’ with Ivan Zacharias attached to direct from a script by James Gray.
