Jennifer Connelly Boards AMERICAN PASTORAL

Oscar winner boards the Philip Roth adaptation…

Jennifer Connelly (‘Noah,’ ‘ Requiem for a Dream’) has scored the female lead opposite Ewan McGregor (‘Mortdecai,’ ‘Our Kind of Traitor’) in director Phillip Noyce’s adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel ‘American Pastoral.’

The novel, penned by Philip Roth, follows Seymour “Swede” Levov, a legendary high school athlete, who grows up to marry a former beauty queen and inherits his father’s business. Swede’s seemingly perfect life shatters when his daughter rebels by becoming a revolutionary and commits a deadly act of political terrorism during the Vietnam War.

Connelly will play Swede’s wife, Dawn.

The adapted screenplay was written by ‘Lincoln Lawyer’ scribe John Romano, and is scheduled to kick off principal photography March 2015 in Pittsburgh.
