‘The Crow’ creator joins reboot.
Variety is reporting that James O’Barr, creator of the original ‘The Crow’ graphic novel, has come on board as a consultant on Relativity Media’s upcoming feature film reboot of the property.
Cameras are set to start rolling early 2014 with Welsh actor Luke Evans (‘The Hobbit,’ ‘Fast & Furious 6,’ ‘No One Lives’) in the title role and F. Javier Gutierrez directing from a script by Cliff Dorfman.
“It is important for ‘Crow’ fans to understand that Relativity, Javier, Luke and the entire team are working on a new adaptation of the book itself,” said O’Barr in a statement. “I believe that this movie will stand alongside Brandon and his film as a valid work of art, and I look forward to collaborating on the project.”
Ed Pressman, Kevin Misher, Jeff Most and Relativity’s Media’s Ryan Kavanaugh are producing the long-in-development reboot with Relativity’s president Tucker Tooley, The Weinstein Company’s Harvey and Bob Weinstein, and Dan Farah of Farah Films serving as executive producers.
