Oscar-nominated actor/writer/director/producer/you-name-it James Franco has emerged as the frontrunner to take the male lead in the dark crime drama ‘Good People,’ according to TheWrap.

Based on the 2008 novel of the same name by Marcus Sakey, the film follows Tom and Anna Reed, a young couple that find half a million dollars in their deceased neighbour’s house. Before long, the Reeds, who thought their problems were finally all behind them, find themselves square in the path of ruthless men. Men who’ve been double-crossed, and who won’t stop until they get revenge.

Danish director Henrik Ruben Genz is attached to direct, with the screenplay coming from Kelly Masterson. Tobey Maguire, Ben Forkner, Matthew Plouffe, Thomas Gammeltoft, Mark Gill, and Ed Cathell will produce.
