Dystopia tale announces lead cast.
Kodi Smit-McPhee (‘ParaNorman), Elle Fanning (‘Super 8’), Nicholas Hoult (‘Warm Bodies’), and Michael Shannon (‘Man of Steel’) have all been cast in writer/director Jake Paltrow’s sci-fi thriller ‘Young Ones.’
Currently in production in South Africa’s Northern Cape desert, the film is set in “a violent near-future where water has become the most precious — and fastest-dwindling — resource on the planet” and focuses on a teenage boy (Smit-McPhee) who is forced use his wits to survive.
‘Young Ones’ will be produced by Subotica’s Tristan Orpen Lynch and Michael Auret of Spier Films.
