Bryan Singer’s ‘Jack the Giant Killer’ gains another with Ian McShane set to play a King.

Ian McShane has joined the cast of Bryan Singer’s ‘Jack the Giant Killer.’ The actor will play Princess Isabella’s father, King Brahmwell, who is none too thrilled about a union between his daughter and the farmer boy Jack.

‘Jack the Giant Killer’ takes an adult look at the Jack and the Beanstalk legend. When a princess is kidnapped, a long-standing peace between men and giants becomes threatened, and a young farmer is given an opportunity to lead a dangerous expedition to the giant kingdom to rescue her. The cast already includes Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy and John Kassir.

McShane will next be seen as the infamous pirate Blackbeard in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ when it hits cinemas in May.
