JACK RYAN Director Kenneth Branagh May Also Play Movie

Branagh may pull double-duty on reboot.

Kenneth Branagh – who is currently attached to direct Paramount’s untitled reboot of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan franchise – is reportedly in negotiations to play the movie’s villain opposite Chris Pine (‘Star Trek’).

The new film finds ex-Marine Jack Ryan (Pine) working as a successful financial analyst in Moscow. He discovers a plot by his employer to finance a terrorist attack against America.

According to Variety, Branagh would be taking the role of Russian villain, Viktor Stazov, who with the help of the local government, masterminds a plot to destroy America’s economy by devaluing the American dollar.
