Rising boards spy thriller…
Jeff Sneider over at TheWrap is hearing that Universal has tapped British actor Jack O’Connell to play the young lead in the historical spy thriller ‘Section 6.’
The film follows the World War I-era formation of British intelligence agency MI6 and its first director, Sir George Mansfield Cummings, who served as the inspiration for M in the ‘James Bond’ series.
Late last year it was revealed that Hugh Jackman was eyeing a role in the Aaron Berg-scripted thriller, although the ‘X-Men’ star’s name is absent from the latest reports.
Producers on the potential spy franchise include Lawrence Grey, and Marc Platt Productions’ Marc Platt and Adam Siegel. No director is currently attached.
