Supernatural coming of age love story begins casting.

Jack O’Connell (‘Skins,’ ‘Harry Brown,’ ‘Eden Lake’) and Alice Englert (‘Singularity’) are in final talks to lead writer-director Richard LaGravenese’s supernatural love story ‘Beautiful Creatures.’

Set in South Carolina, the story follows two star-crossed teenage lovers, local boy Ethan and mysterious new girl Lena, who must confront a curse that has haunted the girl’s family for generations.

The young stars will be joined by Viola Davis (‘The Help’), who has signed up to play a librarian and friend of Ethan’s deceased mother who loves him like a son and will do whatever she can to protect him.

‘Beautiful Creatures’ is based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Kami Carcia and Margaret Stohl, the first in a series of five. Plan is for the film to kick off a possible franchise.
