David Dobkin looking to add Nicholson.

THR has learned that Hollywood veteran Jack Nicholson is being courted by Warner Bros. Pictures to play Robert Downey Jr.’s father in the David Dobkin-directed dramatic comedy ‘The Judge.’

Penned by Nick Schenk, the film follows a big-city lawyer (Downey) who returns home after the death of his mother to learn that his estranged, Alzheimer’s-stricken father, a judge, is suspected of murder. He sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before.

Downey, who recently wrapped on ‘Iron Man 3,’ will serve as producer on ‘The Judge’ with his Team Downey partners Susan Downey and David Gambino, with Dobkin producing with his Big Kid Pictures partner Jeff Kleeman.
