Jack Black and James Marsden Board THE D-TRAIN

The two will team for indie comedy…

Jack Black and James Marsden are set to co-star in ‘The D-Train,’ a low-budget indie comedy that will mark the directorial debut of screenwriters Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel (‘Yes Man’).

Per THR, the indie centres on “a Middle America high school reunion committee chairman (Black), still searching for high school acceptance, who has to do whatever it takes, including flying to Los Angeles to penetrate the world of celebrities, to get the most popular guy from high school — now a failed actor working in commercials (Marsden) — to show up to their 20-year reunion.”

Mike White (‘The School of Rock’) co-stars, playing Black’s only friend in high school. Nat Faxon (‘The Way Way Back’) is in talks for a role.

White’s RipCord Productions will produce, with Black’s Electric Dynamite and Ealing Studios co-producing.
