ISOLATION Helmer Billy O

Production set for October.

Irish writer-director Billy O’Brien (‘Isolation’) is take the director’s chair for the new action-sci-fi-horror mash-up ‘Creeping Zero.’

The cast includes John Boyega (‘Attack the Block’), Ashley Hinshaw (‘Chronicle’), Eddie Marsan (‘Sherlock Holmes’), Dominic Monaghan (‘The Lord of the Rings’) and Adam Deacon (‘Dead Set’).

Penned by Jeff Noon the screenplay is based on his short story which was published in his 1998 collection, ‘Pixel Juice.’ The official synopsis as follows:

“A new terrorist group is threatening the status quo. An extremist group of Blanks called the Fumati can attack and kill anywhere and then disappear back into the population. Using hi-tech devices, they slip through security disguised as their victims. Now it is difficult to know who is the enemy and who is a friend. Fear stalks the population.

Lenny (Boyega) is part of the Creeping Zero crew, a security outfit tasked with hunting down the elusive Fumati. He is in love with Camille (Hinshaw) another member of the CZ squad. But in a full-on Fumati attack, she is snatched and disappears into the night. Lenny quits the crew and goes in search of Camille. But soon the hunter becomes the hunted when he discovers the shocking truth about this conflict.”

Principal photography on the €7m project is set to get underway in October in Hungary, with the project moving to Dublin’s Windmill Lane towards the end of the year for post production and visual effects work.

‘Creeping Zero’ is a co-production between UK production company Dan Films (‘Triangle,’ ‘Severance’), Ireland’s Grand Pictures (‘Death of a Superhero,’ ‘Wide Open Spaces’), and Hungary based production company Pioneer Films (‘Chernobyl Diaries,’ ‘The Raven’).
