IRON MAN 3 Screenwriter to Pen GODZILLA Re-Write

Scribe to polish an earlier draft.

Variety is reporting that Legendary Pictures has tapped screenwriter Drew Pearce (‘Sherlock Holmes 3,’ ‘Iron Man 3’) to provide a rewrite on its ‘Godzilla’ reboot.

Previous drafts for the reboot were penned by David Callahan (‘The Expendables’), as well as David Goyer (‘The Dark Knight’) and Max Borenstein (‘The Seventh Son’).

Sources close to the project tell Variety that the rewrite is not because the execs over at Legendary have any major problems with the script, but rather to age up the characters so that they fit the prototype of the actors they would like to target.

British director Gareth Edwards (‘Monsters’) is in the director’s chair for the reboot with Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce along with Dan Lin, Roy Lee and Brian Rogers.
