He’s the face most people wake up to in the morning. For 12 years, Eamonn Holmes presented breakfast show GMTV and since 2005 he has been anchor of Sky News at breakfast time – Sunrise with Eamonn Holmes – from 0600 – 0900. But what does the small screen Journalist know about the big screen? Movies.ie catches up with the Belfast born man to talk movies.


Q: How often to you get to sit down and watch a movie?
I make a point of doing it at least once a week.

“Flushed Away”, “Superman Returns” and “Contact”.

The Quiet Man- Fun, fights and John Wayne

Q: What is your favourite movie of all time?
Kelly’s Heroes


Q: What movie could you never sit through again?
So many, most recently “The assassination of Richard Nixon.

Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Clint Eastwood.

Q: Have you ever cried during a movie? Which one?
Quite a few, particularly Stepmom with Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts.
