Irish animation studio has series picked up by Netflix

Cartoon Saloon, the twice Oscar nominated Irish animation studio has had its new series PUFFIN ROCK picked up for exclusive broadcast by Internet television network, Netflix. Narrated by MOONE BOY star Chris O’Dowd and supported by the Irish Film Board and Northern Ireland Screen, it will premiere exclusively on Netflix in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Benelux, France and Germany this September 1st 2015 and all other Netflix markets at a later date.

PUFFIN ROCK is set on a beautiful island off the coast of Ireland and tells the story of Oona, a charismatic and plucky young pufflin, who along with her ever­ curious little
brother Baba, explores the diverse array of sea, sky, land and underground creatures. The series introduces a combination of preschool themes and soft natural history learnings to young viewers. Cartoon Saloon partnered with Penguin Random House Children’s & Dog Ears on the 13­ episode season

Meanwhile, Cartoon Saloon’s new feature length movie SONG OF THE SEA has gotten a new poster in advance of its Irish cinema release on July 10th.
