iNUMBER NUMBER Remake In The Works

Hollywood planning remake of low-budget action thriller…

According to a report over on THR, Universal Pictures has acquired the remake rights to South African filmmaker Donovan Marsh’s action-packed heist thriller ‘iNumber Number.’

The original, which premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, centres on Chili Ngcobo (played by S’dumo Mtshali), an honest undercover officer who is cheated out of a major reward by his corrupt superiors.In the hopes of scoring a one-way ticket to easy street, he crosses over from cop to robber and infiltrates a cash-in-transit heist gang. Chili must face off against his partner,Shoes (Presley Chweneyagae),who refuses to let him do it and one of the gang members who recognizes him as a cop.

‘Fast & Furious’ scribe Chris Morgan and partner Emile Gladstone are on board to produce the remake alongside Aram Tertzakian of XYZ Films. Tertzakian’s partners over at XYZ, Nate Bolotin and Nick Spicer, will serve as executive producers.
