Steers takes horror adaptation.
Writer/director Burr Steers (‘Charlie St. Cloud,’ ’17 Again,’ ‘Igby Goes Down’) has signed on to write and direct an adaptation of veteran author Scott Spencer’s horror thriller novel ‘Breed.’
Penned under the pseudonym of Chase Novak, the book tells of Alex and Leslie Twisden, “a couple who undergo an experimental fertility treatment that turns them into bloodthirsty savages.” 10 years later, their twins, Adam and Alice, slowly discover there is something seriously wrong with their parents and set out on a quest to learn the true nature of the man and woman who raised them.
The adaptation will be produced by David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford of Heyday Films. A sequel novel is already in the works.
