HORRIBLE BOSSES Sequel Eyes Chris Pine

Christoph Waltz also sought for role…

Chris Pine (‘Star Trek Into Darkness’) is reportedly being courted by New Line Cinema to join the cast of workplace comedy sequel ‘Horrible Bosses 2.’

Pine would be playing part of a horrible father-and-son team in the sequel, with the studio looking to land Christoph Waltz for the father role, although Mike Fleming over at Deadline is hearing that the Oscar-winning ‘Django Unchained’ star will not be available to join the project.

‘That’s My Boy’ and ‘Sex Drive’ director Sean Anders is on board to direct, replacing Seth Gordon who stepped away from director’s chair due to a scheduling conflict.

Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day and Jamie Foxx are all attached to reprise their roles in the sequel with Anders directing from his recent rewrite with regular collaborator, John Morris (‘We’re The Millers,’ ‘Sex Drive,’ ‘Hot Tub Time Machine’).

Directed by Gordon, the first movie followed three friends who conspire to murder their awful bosses (played by Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey, and Colin Farrell) when they realize they are standing in the way of their happiness. The film grossed $209 million worldwide.

‘Horrible Bosses 2’ will be produced by Brett Ratner and Jay Stern, with John Cheng, John Rickard and Diana Pokorny executive producing.
