Henry Cavill (‘The Witcher,’ ‘Justice League’) has signed on to play Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic detective Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming adaptation of Nancy Springer’s ‘Enola Holmes Mysteries’ novel series.
Announced early last year, the film will star ‘Stranger Things’ breakout Millie Bobby Brown as the mystery-solving fourteen-year-old sister of Sherlock Holmes and Mycroft Holmes, a highly capable detective in her own right.
Harry Bradbeer (‘Fleabag,’ ‘Killing Eve’) is attached to direct the film, which will also star Helena Bonham Carter as matriarch of the Holmes family. Sam Claflin, Fiona Shaw, and Adeel Akhtar are also on board.
Production on “Enola Holmes” is expected to start this summer.
