HELLBOY Reboot Adds Irish Star Brian Gleeson

Brian Gleeson (‘Logan Lucky,’ ‘Mother,’ ‘Tiger Raid’) has become the latest addition to the cast of Neil Marshall’s ‘Hellboy,’ joining a cast that includes ‘Stranger Things’ actor David Harbour, Milla Jovovich (‘Resident Evil,’ ‘The Fifth Element’), Daniel Dae Kim (‘Hawaii Five O,’ ‘Angel’), Ian McShane (‘American Gods,’ ‘John Wick’), and ‘Hemlock Grove’ actress Penelope Mitchel.

Penned by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Aron Coleite, the film is a reboot of the franchise and sees our beloved dark hero (Harbour), along with his ragtag team of paranormal researchers, try to save the world from Nimue (Jovovich), a medieval sorceress who wants to destroy humankind.

Gleeson’s fellow newcomers include Sophie Okonedo (‘Hotel Rwanda,’ ‘Undercover’) and Alistair Petrie (‘Rogue One,’ ‘The Night Manager’).

According to Deadline, Gleeson will play the wizard Merlin, with Okonedo playing Lady Hatton, a resident seer at the Osiris Club, an ancient English club dedicated to uncovering supernatural mysteries. Petrie will take on the role of Lord Adam Glaren, a high-ranking member at the club.

Larry Gordon, Lloyd Levin and Mike Richardson are producing, along with Campbell Grobman Films’ Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman.
