Helen Mirren is to headline the fact-based drama ‘Woman In Gold’ for director Simon Curtis (‘My Week With Marilyn’).
The film, previously titled ‘The Golden Lady,’ will see Mirren playing real-life heroine Maria Altmann, an octogenarian Jewish refugee who took on the Austrian government to recover artwork she believed rightfully belonged to her family.
Deadline adds that Ryan Reynolds is also set to star, playing Altmann’s attorney. German actor Daniel Brühl (‘The Fifth Estate,’ ‘Rush’) will play his adversary.
Curtis, who most recently directed ‘My Week with Marilyn,’ will be directing from a script by Alexi Kay Campbell.
