Heigl joins Kutcher in Five Killers

Luketic will direct Lionsgate thriller

Katherine Heigl has signed on to star opposite Ashton Kutcher in the Lionsgate thriller “Five Killers.”


The story kicks off when a
woman marries the man of her dreams Kutcher, but their lives are turned
upside down when they discover that their neighbors may be assassins
hired to kill them.


The movie reteams Heigl with director Robert Luketic, who most recently directed the actress in the romantic comedy “The Ugly Truth”.


Kutcher, who most recently starred in “What Happens in Vegas,” has two upcoming films ready for release: the indies “Personal Effects” co-starring Michelle Pfeiffer and “Spread”, a sex comedy centered on a serial womanizer and his jilted lover with director David Mackenzie.

 

Kutcher is also is in final negotiations for the lead in “Traded”, a football comedy for Paramount Pictures that centers on a superstar NFL quarterback and a 12-year-old middle school geek who magically trade bodies, then quickly learn valuable lessons about humility and courage.


Heigl’s “The Ugly Truth”, a battle of the sexes romcom also starring Gerard Butler heats up Irish cinemas April 17th.
