First year english arts students can breath a sign of relief with the announcent that a new film version of Emily Bronte’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ is in pre-production. According to reports, British director John Maybury has been brought in for the project. Maybury, whose previous work includes a biopic on the life of Francis Bacon and the famous Sinéad O’Connor music video ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, is currently finishing the drama ‘The Edge of Love’, starring Keira Knightley and Irish actor Cillian Murphy. The film is due to begin shooting in the Autumn.
