Norwegian helmer Morten Tyldum (‘Headhunters’) has signed on to take the helm of the thriller ‘Chain of Events,’ according to Variety.
Described as ‘World War Z’ meets ‘The Da Vinci Code,’ the film is an adaptation of the Frederick T. Olsson book of the same name and follows William Sandberg, a washed up military cryptologist “who finds himself pulled into an international conspiracy that claims to have created a way to map out all human disasters and terrorism through our DNA.”
Mark L. Smith (‘The Revenant,’ ‘Vacancy,’ ‘The Hole’) is adapting the screenplay. Jesse Ehrman and Racheline Benveniste are overseeing development for Warner Bros.
Tyldum’s latest, the Alan Turing biopic ‘The Imitation Game’ starring Benedict Cumberbatch, opens in Irish cinemas November 14th.
