Hardy Drops Out of SUICIDE SQUAD

Jake Gyllenhaal reportedly in line to replace him…

Word is coming from Heat Vision that Tom Hardy has dropped off the cast of David Ayer’s ‘Suicide Squad,’ citing scheduling conflicts for his departure.

Hardy was on board to play Rick Flagg, the leader of the group of super villains played by Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jared Leto (Joker), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress). Viola Davis (‘How To Get Away With Murder,’ ‘The Help’) is also linked to the comicbook adaptation, playing Amanda Waller, the government agent in charge of the whole operation.

And while it has yet to be confirmed, Ayer is said to be courting his ‘End of Watch’ star Jake Gyllenhaal to replace Hardy in the role of Flagg. UPDATE: Gyllenhaal has reportedly passed on an offer for the role.

Hardy is deep into production on Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s ‘The Revenant,’ and the film is expected to continue into mid-March, after which Hardy will be required to promotion for the upcoming ‘Mad Max: Fury Road.’
