HARBINGER Adaptation Re-Enlists Stephen Susco

Long-in-development adaptation brings back scribe.

According to Variety, screenwriter Stephen Susco (‘Texas Chainsaw 3D,’ ‘Red,’ ‘High School,’ ‘The Grudge’) has been brought back to tackle the script for a comic-to-film adaptation of Valiant Entertainment’s ‘Harbinger.’

Created by Jim Shooter, the series is a dark and modern twist on the mutant/superhero mythology and follows Pete Stanchek, a teenager- turned-superhero and his battle with an equally powerful industrialist.

The adaptation was originally set up at Paramount Pictures with Brett Ratner attached to direct from a screenplay by Susco but it stalled due to underlying rights issues. Valiant will now develop the adaptation with Ratner (‘X-Men: The Last Stand’).
