The classic fairy tale “Hansel and Gretel” is set for a big screen 3-D make-over.
Michael Bay’s commercial production house The Institute is teaming up with Kalliope Films for a 3D live-action movie based on the Grimm Brothers’ classic.
The Institute co-founder Scott Gardenhour will produce “Hansel and Gretel” with Kalliope Films founder Kira Madallo Sesay.
The look of the film’s characters will be in good hands with Joseph C. Pepe, the lead character designer on a “Avatar.”
Production is scheduled to begin next spring in Germany.
