Cold War project re-teams Hanks and Spielberg…
Variety has learned that Tom Hanks reuniting with his ‘Saving Private Ryan,’ ‘The Terminal,’ and ‘Catch Me if You Can’ director Steven Spielberg for an untitled Cold War thriller.
Scripted by Matt Charman, the film is based on the true story of James Donovan (Hanks), “a prominent attorney enlisted by the CIA during the Cold War to slip behind the iron curtain to negotiate the release of a pilot captured when his U-2 spy plane was shot down over Russia.”
Marc Platt is on board to produce alongside Spielberg and his DreamWorks banner.
