Hiddleston to replace Benedict Cumberbatch.

It has been announced that British actor Tom Hiddleston (‘Midnight in Paris,’ ‘War Horse’) has closed a deal to join the cast of Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Crimson Peak.’

The ‘Avengers Assemble’ star replaces fellow in-demand actor Benedict Cumberbatch (‘Star Trek,’ ‘The Fifth Estate’), who exited the gothic tale late last month.

Charlie Hunnam, Mia Wasikowska, and Jessica Chastain remain on board to star in the tale of Edith Cushing, a young author who discovers that her charming new husband is not who he appears to be.

The film, which is set to begin shooting in January 2014, will be produced and financed by Legendary Pictures.
