GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 Eyes Kurt Russell

The excellent Kurt Russell (‘Bone Tomahawk,’ ‘Fast & Furious 7,’ ‘Big Trouble in Little China,’ ‘The Thing’) is reportedly being eyed for a role in Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ sequel.

With James Gunn back behind the camera, the film follows Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and his band of misfits (played by Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel) as they continue their cosmic adventures as protectors of the galaxy.

News of Russell’s involvement with the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes via TheWrap, with the site hearing that the ‘Escape From New York’ star is the top choice for the role of Star-Lord’s mysterious father. ‘Oldboy’ actress Pom Klementieff recently joined the cast of the sequel.

Production kicks off early next year, with the film pencilled in for a summer 2017 release.

Russell will next be seen starring in Quentin Tarantino‘s western flick ‘The Hateful Eight,’ when it rides into Irish cinemas January 8, 2016.
