Bourne Helmer Peter Greengrass attached to The Trial of the Chicago 7?
With Steven Spielberg no longer attached to ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7′, Bourne helmer Peter Greengrass is rumoured to replace him as director.
Spielberg left the project late last week, citing his commitment to the ‘Tintin’ project as his reason for dropping out.
The film is based on the 2007 documentary ‘Chicago 10′. Writer Aaron Sorkin (Charlie Wilson’s War) penned the screenplay, based on the trials of eight Vietnam protesters accused of inciting riot at the 1968 Democratic convention. Will Smith, Kevin Spacey and Colin Hanks are all rumoured for the film.
Greengrass is currently finishing up post-production on the espionage thriller Green Zone, which stars Matt Damon.
Green Zone hits cinemas in 2009.
