Gosling and Crowe Could Be THE NICE GUYS

Russell Crowe (‘Noah,’ ‘Les Misérables’) and Ryan Gosling (‘Only God Forgives,’ ‘Drive’) are reportedly being sought for the leads in the long-in-development 1970s noir film ‘The Nice Guys.’

Per TheWrap, the Los Angeles-set story follows muscle-for-hire and recovering alcoholic Jackson Healy, and a practicing alcoholic private eye named Holland March, who are brought together by the suicide of a fading porn star. “However, the dead girl’s aunt is convinced she saw her niece alive and well after the highly publicized incident. March needs money, takes the case, and within days, it’s blossomed into a far-reaching murder conspiracy, bizarrely rooted in smog and the U.S. auto industry.”

Shane Black (‘Iron Man 3,’ ‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’) is behind the camera, directing from a script he co-wrote with Anthony Bagarozzi. Joel Silver is on board to produce via his Silver Pictures shingle.
