GOOSEBUMPS Movie Casts Its Young Leads

Long-gesting adaptation adds two more…

Up-and-coming young actors Dylan Minnette (‘Labor Day,’ ‘Prisoners’) and Odeya Rush (‘The Giver,’ ‘We Are What We Are’) have landed roles alongside Jack Black in Sony Pictures’ long-gesting family adventure ‘Goosebumps.’

Based on the bestselling book series by R.L. Stine, the story follows Zach Cooper (Minnette), who moves with his family move from New York City to the idyllic small town of Greendale, Maryland, “where his secretive new neighbour turns out to be veteran young adult horror author R.L. Stine (Black). When the many, many demons of Stine’s mind are set free by Slappy, a demonic ventriloquist’s dummy,” it’s up to Zach and Stine’s quirky and mysterious niece Hannah (Rush) to battle the monsters.

Rob Letterman (‘Gulliver’s Travels,’ ‘Monsters Vs Aliens,’ ‘Shark Tale’) is directing from a script by Darren Lemke and Mike White.

Neal H. Moritz (‘Fast Five,’ ’21 Jump Street’) and Scholastic Entertainment’s Deborah Forte (‘The Golden Compass’) will produce with Sony executives Hannah Minghella and Elizabeth Cantillon overseeing development.
