The studio has signed an exclusive three-year first-look deal with Steve Carell to act and even produce projects that come his way. While this Get Smart sequel isn’t part of the deal, the same announcement today included a mention that “the studio is mobilizing a sequel for Carell to return as Maxwell Smart.”

“Get Smart,” which cost  $80 million to make, has earned $130 million domestically and $94 million internationally for a global total of $224 million.

Carell is prepping to get in front of the camera with Tina Fey for the comedy Date Night, which Shawn Levy will direct.
